Privacy policy

Omnipus is run by one person, Ruben Rocha (Portugal / EU). This page describes what the site actually sends over the network.

Files you process

Tools marked “Runs on your device” (converters, compressors, generators, OCR, background removal, and similar) process your file in your browser. The file is not uploaded to Omnipus servers. Closing the tab discards it unless you saved the result. We cannot see, store, or recover those files.

Some of these tools download code or model files the first time you use them — for example the FFmpeg engine from cdn.jsdelivr.net, OCR language data from a public Tesseract data host, and the background-removal model from IMG.LY’s CDN. Those are downloads to your browser; your file is not sent with them. Like any web request, those servers can see your IP address.

URLs you paste

Downloaders send the URL you paste to an Omnipus server function, which requests that public page to find the media. For some sites (for example TikTok and X) the server asks a public third-party extraction service (such as tikwm.com or fxtwitter.com) instead, so that service also receives the URL. Downloads are streamed through our server so your browser can save them. We do not keep a media archive. Do not paste private, login-walled, or confidential links.

Lookups

The currency converter loads a rates table directly from the Frankfurter/ECB API. The amount you type stays in the browser.

The RuneScape skill signature’s “Fetch stats” sends the player name you enter to an Omnipus server function, which asks Jagex’s public hiscores for that name. We do not save the name.

To prevent abuse, the download, extract, and hiscores endpoints keep a short-lived, in-memory counter per IP address (rate limiting). It is not written to a database.

Analytics

Visit statistics are collected with Umami, self-hosted on our own server at omnipus.co/umami. Umami is cookieless: it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. For each page view it records the page address and title, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and an approximate country worked out from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored. Visits are grouped using a hash that rotates, so you are not followed across months. Umami data is not shared with Google or any other third party. If your browser sends Do Not Track, the tracker does not record your visit.

Advertising

Ads are served by Adsterra. Their ad scripts load from Adsterra’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details, and may use cookies or similar identifiers as described in Adsterra’s privacy policy. Ads load only after you click Accept on the cookie banner; if you click Decline, no Adsterra script is loaded. Ads run in an isolated frame on www.omnipus.co, separate from the tools. Ads are labeled “Advertisement” and placed away from tool controls.

Stored in your browser

Recent tools, favorites, theme choice, default share tools, your cookie choice, a cached currency-rates table, a random tarot seed, and a local activity history (tool name, file names, sizes — not the files) are kept in your browser’s localStorage or IndexedDB. Downloaded engines and models are cached with the Cache API. None of this is sent to Omnipus. Clear site data in your browser to remove it.

Children

Omnipus is a general-audience utility site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
