About WebM to MP3
Save the audio from a browser or screen recording (WebM) as an MP3 for notes, transcription, or a podcast edit.
Opus or Vorbis audio from the WebM is decoded and re-encoded as MP3.
The FFmpeg engine (about 31 MB) downloads the first time you convert and is then cached by your browser. Files up to about 100 MB are supported because everything runs in browser memory.
WebM vs MP3
| WebM | MP3 | |
|---|---|---|

| Typical codecs | VP8 or VP9 video (sometimes AV1), Vorbis or Opus audio | MPEG-1 Layer III |
