About this tool

Check that your webcam or phone camera works before a call. Omnipus asks for camera permission, shows the live picture, and reports the negotiated resolution, measured FPS (frames actually delivered to the page), reported frame rate, and the camera name. Switch between cameras, mirror the view, and ask for 1080p. The video never leaves this tab — nothing is recorded, saved, or sent.

Is my video recorded or uploaded?

No. The stream is shown in a video element in this tab only and stops when you press Stop or leave the page.

Why is the resolution lower than my camera’s spec?

The browser negotiates a mode with the camera. Ticking Ask for 1080p requests a higher resolution, but drivers, USB bandwidth, and lighting can limit it.

Why is FPS low?

Many cameras drop frame rate in low light. Other apps using the camera, power saving, or a slow USB hub can also reduce it.

It says permission denied.

Allow camera access for omnipus.co in the address bar or browser settings, and close other apps that are using the camera.

Is Webcam test completely free to use?

Yes. Webcam test on Omnipus is free to use with no subscription paywall for the tool itself.

Are my files or data uploaded to any servers?

No. Webcam test processes your input locally in this browser tab. Your files and text are not sent to Omnipus. Some tools download an engine or model file the first time you use them; that is a download, not an upload.

Does Omnipus add watermarks to exported files?

No. Omnipus does not stamp a site watermark onto files you export from Webcam test.
