About MOV to MP3
Pull the soundtrack, an interview, or a voice recording out of an iPhone or QuickTime video as an MP3 you can play anywhere.
The video is ignored and only the audio track is encoded to MP3 at the bitrate you choose (192 kbps by default).
The FFmpeg engine (about 31 MB) downloads the first time you convert and is then cached by your browser. Files up to about 100 MB are supported because everything runs in browser memory.
MOV vs MP3
| MOV | MP3 | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Apple QuickTime container | Lossy audio |
| Typical codecs | H.264 or HEVC video, AAC audio (iPhone default is HEVC) | MPEG-1 Layer III |
