About FLAC to MP3
FLAC is lossless but large. MP3 copies take a fraction of the space and play on every phone, car stereo, and old player.
Encoded with LAME at the bitrate you choose; 256–320 kbps is a sensible choice for music from a FLAC source. Tags may not all carry over.
The FFmpeg engine (about 31 MB) downloads the first time you convert and is then cached by your browser. Files up to about 100 MB are supported because everything runs in browser memory.
