About AVI to MP4
AVI is an old container that many phones and web apps no longer play. Converting to MP4 makes old camera clips and archives shareable again.
AVI files usually contain older codecs such as Xvid or DivX, so the video is normally re-encoded to H.264. Expect this to take a while on long clips.
The FFmpeg engine (about 31 MB) downloads the first time you convert and is then cached by your browser. Files up to about 100 MB are supported because everything runs in browser memory.
